Dead Horse Bay has a long history in New York and has been used in a variety of ways, some a bit macabre in nature starting in the 1800s. If you visit the bay, you may find bits from the natural time capsule that of a landfill that has burst it's history ashore and brings things like bones, glass bottles from hundreds of years ago, and other "garbage" finds that you would never see anywhere else. Going there we chronicled findings, created a publication with the history of Dead Horse Bay, and created a website to garner more interest in this hidden gem, and incorporated the #deadhorsebay so it collected data from instagram to see who went there and what their findings were.
